Waterbeds have been very popular for the past years. Marketed as something better than the conventional mattresses, it definitely attracted lots of people who want to get a comfortable sleep. Sleeping comfortably is definitely a basic need. People who work all day as well as athletes and students need to take a rest to prepare themselves for another busy day. Studies have shown that enough and quality sleep is the key to having energy for the mind and body.

People who can sleep soundly at night show a high level productivity because their mind is more focused – no sense of drowse – and their body has recuperated for several hours. Waterbeds also relieved lots of body ailments including back pain caused by unnecessary pressure points from the body’s contact to stiff mattresses. Many people believed waterbeds to be the best option when they want to get a quality sleep but have you ever wondered if there is anything better than these water-filled beds? How about airfilled mattresses?

The airfilled mattresses were introduced after the waterbeds succeeded in making people, who are desperate to sleep soundly at night, fall in love with them. Air-filled mattresses were then known as a successor of waterbeds.

The air filled mattresses have the same benefits of waterbeds. They do not produce unnecessary pressure points because the mattresses do not remain straight and stiff. They follow the body’s natural contour so there is no pressure on shoulders, back, buttocks, calves and heels. No pressure points means no body pain. Do you remember that night when you slept in a firm mattress when you actually want the softest mattress ever created? You probably feel pain on your back, shoulder or hips. There are also people who are uncomfortable when sleeping on soft mattresses and prefer those that are stiff. It is all about personal preferences. The air filled mattresses allow this. Even two persons who have totally different preference on the mattress can sleep together with both being comfortable and able to sleep soundly.

One of the features of the air filled mattress that the waterbeds don’t is having sections that can have different stiffness. One side can be very soft while the other can be firm. It all depends on the users’ preference. These sections can be remotely controlled. This is very convenient. One can even lie on the mattress and change the setting. It is a great feature because one does not have to stand and lie repeatedly just to set the mattress according to his preference.

If you have tried sleeping on a waterbed and was comfortable on it, its successor – the air-filled mattress – may also capture your heart. It has the same benefits of comfort, no body pain, and the feeling of floating. However, the airfilled mattress is made to be better than its predecessor. With convenient and user-friendly features, it allows the users to control each section while lying on the mattress. Plus, the sections’ firmness or softness can be controlled allowing variety and great comfort.
